This tour is being replaced by a coffee/tea/chocolate tasting tour. Details forthcoming.
Boulder boasts at least 10 breweries & brewpubs and more than 25 non-chain coffee shops and roasters. Matter of fact, there are at least TEN coffee roasters in Boulder, some of which have a national presence. This unique tour combines the experience of a nice, leisurely paced bike ride, broken up by stops at both a popular brewery and a local small coffee roaster. Here you’ll get to see first-hand both the beer-making and coffee roasting processes and sample the results of those wonderfully coveted beverages. We begin the tour from the centrally located Boulder Bikesmith, making a quick jump onto the picturesque Boulder Creek Path and head east onto the less urban, quieter Boulder plains.
We traverse through the edge of town to our first stop at a local, well-established small coffee roaster where we will be able to observe (and smell, mmmmm) how the roasting of raw beans actually occurs, and then taste the rich results. Once sufficiently alert and energized, we’ll take an easy jaunt to the next phase of this exciting and informative tour: Avery Brewing Company. Here, we’ll take advantage of their scheduled tour where we see how the beer brewing process occurs, and finally, complete the experience by sampling some of the brews in their rustic tasting room. We continue our adventure by hopping onto the creek path, cruising along the lush wetlands restoration area, and make our happy (hoppy) little way back to our starting point, passing lakes, ponds, wetlands, and even an historic cottonwood tree preserve. This tour has it all!
